Philadelphia native Fridayy, the Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer, is set to release his sophomore album, Some Days I’m Good, Some Days I’m Not, today, February 28th. The 21-track album features an impressive lineup of collaborations with artists like Chris Brown, Kehlani, Meek Mill, and Wale, and promises an intimate look into the artist’s life and journey.
Fridayy’s rise to fame has been impressive. After signing with Def Jam Recordings in 2022, he gained widespread recognition for his contributions to Lil Baby’s “Forever” and DJ Khaled’s “God Did,” the latter earning him three Grammy nominations. In 2023, he saw his first Billboard Hot 100 entry as a lead artist with “When It Comes to You” off his self-titled debut project.
Growing up in Philadelphia with Haitian roots, Fridayy’s musical influences range from Haitian music played by his family to local Philly artists like Meek Mill and Lil Uzi Vert. He recalls being drawn to music from a young age, starting piano lessons at four and leading the church choir at ten. “Seeing the reaction from the congregation made me want to sing every chance I got,” he says.
Before his solo success, Fridayy made a name for himself producing for rising artists. One of his early milestones was a $3,000 payment for a beat, a life-changing moment that solidified his path. He later landed a placement with his idol, Chris Brown, which he considers a dream come true. His work on DJ Khaled’s “God Did,” alongside JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and John Legend, further elevated his career. Fridayy credits Eddie Fourcell, for getting the beat to DJ Khaled.
Opening for Buju Banton on “The Overcome Tour” also left a lasting impact. Fridayy admired Banton’s energy and dedication to his performance.
Fridayy describes Some Days I’m Good, Some Days I’m Not as a complete project that explores the full spectrum of human experience. “I’m the type of artist you’re not gonna get bored with,” he says. “On this project, you’re going to say, ‘What do I want to hear for the day?’ The first side, I’m on my R&B vibe. The second half might make you want to cry because you’re going through something.” With this new album, Fridayy aims to deliver a deeply personal and relatable body of work to his fans.
Betvn01…hmmm. I’d say it’s decent. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely reliable. Good odds on the sports betting side of things. Could use a visual upgrade, but it gets the job done: betvn01
